Join Sheffield's silver-tongued septuagenarian, Sheridan Shacklethwaite – broadcaster, historian and after tea speaker – for a light-hearted, torch-lit, exploration of the vast basement of the Central Library. Navigate the hitherto unchartered regions, that are not normally seen by the public. Allow your senses to become dislocated among the labyrinthine bookshelves on this vaguely historical, mildly accurate, thoroughly researched, completely made up, yet hugely enjoyable tour.
Tours start at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and last for around 45 minutes.
Stairs, low light levels and confined spaces involved. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Torches provided.
