Uma, a disillusioned newlywed, moves into her husband's cramped one-room home in Mumbai.

She is not the housewife he might have hoped for, while he is passive and seemingly more interested in doing anything other than engaging with her.

Trapped in domestic hell – and with zero domestic skills – she sets out to explore the city on her own, but the nocturnal world of Mumbai changes her. Embracing fresh impulses and desires, transforming into a disturbing and ruthless figure, Uma gives in to her most feral impulses.

Writer-director Karan Kandhari's audacious feature debut, Sister Midnight is a surreal, darkly comic, genre-bending story following how certain impulses can land you in unlikely and unpredictable situations.
