The Age of Anxiety is a joint exhibition featuring the paintings of Paul Dearden and the ceramics of Trevor Pollard, coming to Yorkshire Artspace Persistence Works this October.
The work in the exhibition address concerns the artists have seen over their lifetimes, from the "mutually assured destruction" of the cold war to the eco-anxieties around global warming.
Paul Dearden and Trevor Pollard are contemporaries, having both embarked on a study of Fine Art in the early 1970s. They only met for the first time in 2011 when they found themselves occupying adjacent studios at Yorkshire Artspace. Since then, they have collaborated occasionally through exhibitions and film making.
Paul established the theme for the exhibition, and Trevor set about producing a new body of work in response to Paul's paintings.
