Work-Leisure is a national survey of objects made during leisure time by industrial workers across the UK, led by Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad and co-curated with Matthew Harle.
Over several months, Bahbak and Matthew visited hundreds of businesses, documenting items made with using workplace skills and materials. The archive showcases a diverse range of personal, playful, and practical objects – from furniture welded by steelworkers to whimsical pieces cast by plasterers – highlighting alternative uses of materials and techniques within industrial contexts
The exhibition, featuring photographs and objects, will also launch a publication documenting the Sheffield phase of the project.
Open Thursday–Saturday, 11am–5pm, free entry.
