From the artist behind Black Lodge Press, the Anarchist Prayer Quilts are a series of 14 large scale fabric pieces combining the aesthetic of traditional quilts with the street politics of direct-action political banners.
The prayers within the quilts speak for the death of fascism, the destruction of Al, and give hope to a life breaking through the concrete.
In the Memory Dance basement cinema, we will also present a series of rare archive films from Sheffield and South Yorkshire responding to these ideas of activism and protest. Think 1980s films on radical recycling projects, experimental animation, and community organising videos about everything from public buses to the Cold War.
Opening night
