Hirayama, a public toilet cleaner in Shibuya, Tokyo, lives alone in an old apartment in Oshiage. Some days, he might not talk to a single person.
Every day, he wakes up at the same time, gets ready the same way, and works the same way. He never deviates from his routine, even when it rains.
Though his life may seem monotonous, no two days are ever the same. Outside of his structured routine, he cherishes music on cassette tapes, books, and taking photos of trees. But unexpected things happen, causing his quiet life to sway in the wind.
From director Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas), Perfect Days is a work of fiction with the feel of a documentary. This Oscar-nominated, deeply moving and poetic reflection on the world around us celebrates the beauty of the everyday.
