Photomarathon Sheffield is a photography competition inspired by our city. There's no set route and no need to run, or even walk, fast. It's more of a photographic adventure, challenging entrants to take 6 photos on 6 given topics, in order, in no more than 6 hours.
The fourth Photomarathon Sheffield took place on Saturday 28 September. 349 eager snappers – aged from 3 to 83 – took to the streets with their cameras and smartphones.
Saturday 28 September was a slightly grey day, where Sheffield United were playing at home and Extinction Rebellion took to the streets with a striking demonstration. Together these photos show this one day in the life of the city from hundreds of perspectives.
Some of Sheffield’s finest creative minds have since judged the photos, picking winners based on their curiosity, creativity and spontaneity.
Photomarathon Sheffield is organised by our team at Our Favourite Places and independent photography shop Harrison Cameras. Thanks to all the judges, and to Alwin Greyson Photography and Harrison Cameras for providing prizes.
